New year, new goals

(Image from weheartit.com)

Happy 2013! I hope everyone reading this had a happy and safe new year. I didn't really do much, in fact I'm not much of a new years person, it always puts me in a funk. I wanted to do a post about my goals for the up-coming year. I'm really excited for 2013 and what it will bring!

Stress less! I feel like most of 2012 I was stressed out! I had really bad anxiety all year and it just wasn't fun. This year I'm going to take my time and breathe and not worry so much about every little thing because I tend to do that.

Lose the rest of that weight! Isn't weight loss a new years resolution for everyone? Haha. This past year I lost 40 pounds and I want to continue to lose the rest of the weight I need to and tone up my body.

Write in a journal every day. Something to look back on.

A photo a day! Take a picture every day of whatever you want for 365 days. Another something to look back on and fun!

Read 2 books a month! Ive been reading a lot lately and I want to continue that this year!

Do well in school! Going for all A's this semester!

Those are the goals I am focused on for this year. I will update throughout the year telling you all how they are going.

I hope everyone is having an amazing New Years day!! xx

Update and Rambles

Hello everyone :)

I haven't written a blog post in so long! School has just taken over, if you're in college you know what I'm talking about ha. The semester is finally coming to a close so I thought I would start posting again. There hasn't been much going on to be honest I've just been focusing on school and myself. I've been really into health and fitness lately, since June I've lost about 40 pounds! Which is pretty awesome! So that's pretty much it. Pretty boring right?

Right now I'm having a lovely date with Netflix. Watching Parenthood and really liking it. I'm also doing a little online shopping. I just ordered the urban decay mystery travel bag. When I get it I will share what's inside :).

So that's pretty much it for now. I hope you all are having a lovely night!

NOTD: Pure Ice 'Silver Mercedes'

This is officially my new favorite nail polish!
I found this in my sisters nail polish collection and put it right on my nails. I love it!

For those of you interested in Essies new collection 'Mirrored Metallics' but don't want to spend $8 on a nail polish, this is very similar to 'No place like chrome' :)

Thanks for reading!

DIY Splatter Nails

What you need:
Straws
Tape
Paper Plate
nail polish

Start off with a white base
Next, tape you fingers..do not skip this step! I did and my hands were purple for 2 days lol
Then pour your nail polish on your paper plate. After you have done this dip the straw in the paint for at least 10 seconds and then blow on to nail. I suggest using thinner straws, I think mine were a litte too wide and was a little harder to get onto the nail.
And finally your should have this..of course you can choose any colors this is was for 4th of July :)
There are also so many of these tutorials floating around the internet this is the way I saw it done so I hope it works for you :)
Thaks for reading :)

4th of July Splatter Nails

So I did my nails a little different than I usually do and I really liked them so I thought I would share. I've been seeing some really awesome nail designs floating around the Internet lately and 'Splatter Nails' caught my eye. I have to say they're not as easy to do as they look but for my first time doing them I think they came out OK. I of course did red, white and blue for Independence Day but I'm sure they would look awesome with any colors.

Pure Ice: White
OPI: Red
Sally Hanson: Blue me away

Hope you enjoyed this post and hope everyone had an awesome 4th of July and if you don't celebrate it I hope you had an awesome day! :)
